Scaremongering about 3-MMC. The government and addiction clinics go hand in hand. And that is not for nothing. A favorite pastime of these two is terrifying when something new appears on the market.
Promotion
Well, you can't expect a government to promote drugs, even though they've tolerated alcohol since time immemorial. And addiction clinics prefer to be on the safe side by immediately labeling any new drug as dangerous or 'possibly' highly addictive.
3-MMC
These drugs are suddenly labeled as new by clinics and the government. But of course the average user has known it for quite some time. For the ignorant citizen it is certainly new, because in the mainstream media they only write about mind-altering drugs if there is a sensational story attached to it. Because the media does not benefit from news, but from the number of clicks. And sensational stories score well in terms of clicks.
Eight years
The designer drug 3-MMC (also known as 'Poes' or 'meow') is usually sold as a crystalline white powder. The drug has been on the drug market since 2012. This is very short and the drug is therefore also called a designer drug or NPS. Very little is known about designer drugs. Often little or no research has been done. So there is also little knowledge about 3-MMC. And yet mayors and addiction clinics are already sounding the alarm.
Carefully
Caution is advised when using 3-MMC. You can become addicted to 3-MMC. It is suspected that 3-MMC is more addictive than other drugs. This is probably because users experience a strong 'craving' during use. A craving is a strong urge to use or use more.
Legislation 3-MMC
At the moment 3-MMC is not banned. 3-MMC currently falls under the Commodities Act. The government is working on a law that will ban groups of designer drugs in one go. 3-MMC and a lot of other drugs would be banned.
